What is private duty nursing?

In addition to the “skilled services” we offer, First Choice Home Health provides a full range of personal care, companionship, and private duty nursing services. These services are performed by a certified nursing assistant (CNA), licensed practical nurse (LPN), or registered nurse (RN). We will work with you to determine your needs and create a personal care program specifically for you or your loved one. A caregiver will then come to your home or alternate location such as an assisted living facility, hotel, or vacation rental, to provide the care that’s needed. All care is provided under the supervision of a registered nurse.

We also provide caregiver relief, and vacation relief. So, if you’re a caregiver and need a break, call us. We can provide a CNA to take over for you for as long or short a period you request. If you are vacationing here and in need of a caregiver "to watch over Grandma while the family goes skiing," please don't hesitate to call us. We’ll do our best to meet your needs.

Whether young, old or in between, First Choice Home Health can provide care for nearly anyone. We will work with you to match a caregiver to your needs. No request is too difficult, so just ask us.

Why choose First Choice Home Health?

First Choice Home Health has received highest quality ratings by Home Care Pulse, a third-party quality assurance certification company for private duty home care providers, two years in a row. We are the recipient of both “Provider of Choice” and “Employer of Choice” certifications, which means our patients and employees have been independently surveyed. We are proud of the results that prove our staff and clients are receiving the excellent treatment they deserve.

We know you have a choice when it comes to who will take care of you or a loved one. In addition to our quality assurance ratings, you can rest assured you are making the best choice by choosing First Choice Home Health because:
  • We require our aides to be certified: Each one of our compassionate and professional caregivers is a licensed CNA, which stands for certified nursing assistant. This means each aide received state-approved training and is now licensed. He or she is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and sought the education to ensure just that.
  • Round-the-clock care: We can provide care 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends.
  • Flexible scheduling and low minimums: Most agencies require large amounts of time be scheduled. First Choice Home Health allows a one-hour minimum visit time so that you aren’t stuck paying for more than what you really need and want.
  • We move fast: We provide prompt initiation of services, usually within 24 hours of receiving a request.
  • We’re local: First Choice Home Health is locally owned and operated. We are not part of a chain or a franchise.
  • We listen to you: We don’t just tell you what we think you want to hear. We listen to you with an open heart and mind then make recommendations based on feedback from you and your family.
  • We’re here for you: We want to serve you and your family. We share your cares and concerns and we will make every effort to meet your needs while working within your schedule and budget.
